Private Alfred Albert Woolsey (25688) of the 8th Bn, Lincolnshire Regiment died of wounds on 4th March 1917 in a military hospital at St Albans. He was 28. Originally from Great Yarmouth, he had moved with his mother Jessie, brothers Ernest and William and their step father Joseph Bowles and four step brothers and sisters to Grimsby.  In the 1911 census he is listed as living at 3 Hildyard street and working as a journeyman plumber.  By the time of signing up he was working as a fish packer and living with his wife Edith (nee Tibbles) at 42 Albion Street, Grimsby.  In 1914 they had a baby son who did not survive.
