Anthony Fawcett was born in Grimsby in 1919, to Anthony Thomas Langworthy and Ethel Fawcett. He became a Scout with 2nd Grimsby Group. He later married Edith Stanforth in 1941 in Cleethorpes, and lived at 48 Marshall Avenue, Grimsby.
Anthony Fawcett is recorded on the Scout Association’s Roll of Honour as being a Signaller Dispatch Rider, but on his gravestone he is recorded at being a Private (4804814) with the 8th Bn., Lincolnshire Regiment. He was killed on active service on 19 March 1942, aged 23, and is buried at St.Michaels Church, Little Coates.
