Samuel S. Tilmouth was born in Grimsby in 1925 to Herbert George and Amy Tilmouth, and was a Scout with 11th Grimsby (St.James) Group. He lived at 41 Abbey Park Road, Grimsby.
Samuel Tilmouth (14655188) joined the 6th Battalion, Green Howards (Yorkshire Regiment) as a Private, and landed with them on Gold beach on 6th June (D-Day) he was injured in the fighting and on 16th August 1944 he died of wounds received in Normandy. He is buried at Scartho Road Cemetery, Grimsby
