Private George Henry Robinson of 16th Bn. Middlesex Regiment and formerly (SR/656) 1st King Edward’s Horse was injured on the 1st day of the Battle of the Somme and later died of lockjaw (Tetanus) on the 20th July 1916.
Before the war he had attended Clee Grammar School and then worked as a builder’s apprentice in the family firm.  In the 1911 census he is listed as living  with his parents Alfred and Harriet  and his sister Daisy Hetty Robinson, at The Gables Abbey Park Rd Grimsby.
